Catching up...
Since our last posting we have been very very busy with an unusual amount of "in-country" teams plus a couple of vision trips. The pictures are from the vision trips.
In the midst of this our son Josh came to visit to see the Incan ruins at Machu Picchu. Mike accompanied him and then stayed on in Cusco to meet a vision team from New Life BC, Garland, TX....that one day helped out in the fields as corn was being planted...

...the celebration of Mike's 56th..."anybody got a fire extinguisher?"...
...a previous vision trip with Porter Memorial BC, Lexington, KY to the state of Moquegua...just before we arrived a 5.0 earthquake had shocked the area and folks were afraid to stay in their mud homes so they moved to the town plaza...
...a team from the Florida Partnerhship...Westiside BC, Gainesville...Max and Neysa Willocks. This phenomenal couple are 80 and 78...former missionaries to Korea...have been to 77 different countries on short-term projects...filled up 10+ passports...spent 26 years as librarian on the U of Florida campus and in the meantime, recently, committed to assist their home church in Gainesville reach the unreached of southern Peru. On their last trip they baptized eleven and saw three house churches started. Makes me tired of thinking about growing old!!! With them in the picture is REAPSouth Team member Cindy Matney who is going to be living on-site among the people group of this partnership for the next 2-3 years. She is presently in Lima studying Spanish.
...also, we had an "appreciation night" for our translators' ministry where they were presented certicates and a gift for their great contribution to "reaching the unreached"....some had been on as many as five trips in the previous twelve months....all as volunteers....they are full members of the REAPSouth Team and serve without thought of or desire for reimbursement...their payment is immersion in English for up to a week...getting to travel to places in their country that they would most likely never ever see...and the honor of serving their fellow countrymen...and also, making some wonderful friends from the U.S. along with whom they serve...
